After School

We know that the hours in a school day and a work day don’t always line up, and that’s true even when life is going just as planned. Our after school programs provide additional learning opportunities that can enrich a student’s education while supporting a family’s daily schedule.

After School Program Details

After School Programming at BCD and is divided into two categories: 

1.) Daily after school care - After 3 at BCD
2.) After school enrichment classes - Enrichment Classes

After 3 at BCD

Daily after school care is designed to serve families who need after school care on a daily basis for the entire school year.
As such, families must register for the whole school year and pay our unlimited use program fees. 
  • Daily after school care - unlimited use program - begins on Monday, August 26, 2024 and is open on most regular school days from dismissal time – 5:30pm (students must be picked up by 5:30pm). Dates when the program is closed and program specifics are posted on our After School webpage. 
  • Daily after school care is not offered on a drop-in basis or at an hourly rate. However, for families interested in after school care on a part-time basis, we offer "Stay-and-Play" or "After School Hangout" one day / week (M, Tu, W, or Th) for $299 / trimester as an enrichment class.
After school enrichment classes are designed to meet the needs of families who do not need daily after school care - but would like their child to engage in after school activities one or two days / week. 
  • Spaces are limited and registration is taken on a first come - first served basis.
  • Enrichment classes are typically offered in 4-6 week sessions. Families may sign up for the class on a session-by-session basis.
  • Enrichment classes are not offered for every age student. However, we do our best to provide a selection of classes that serve several ages and meet a variety of interests. 
Daily After School Care - Unlimited Use - Program Cost 
  • $2,380.00/child/for the school year. This is an exceptional value - especially for families who use the program to its fullest capacity. 
    • For families with 3+ children, we offer a discounted rate of $5,820/3 children/for the school year. 
    • Families who receive financial assistance over 50%, will receive the same percentage off the cost of daily after school care. Families are required to register for the entire year. However, we will work with families who need to space out their payments.

Please note that children may not be left on school grounds unattended by a parent or guardian before or after school hours. 
 
After 3 at BCD starts on Monday, August 26, 2024 and continues through May 21, 2025 (exceptions / days the program is closed are listed below). Program hours are dismissal - 5:30 p.m.

  • October 4, 2024 (Fall Fest)
  • October 9 - 11, 2024 (Parent/Teacher conference)
  • October 14, 2024 (October break)
  • October 31, 2024 (Halloween - early dismissal)
  • November 11, 2024 (Veterans Day)
  • November 25 - 29, 2024 (Thanksgiving break)
  • December 19, 2024 (BCD employee holiday party)
  • December 20, 2024 (Early dismissal)
  • December 23, 2024 - January 6, 2025 (Winter break)
  • January 20, 2025 (MLK Day)
  • February 13 - 14, 2025 (Parent/Teacher conferences)
  • February 17, 2025 (February break)
  • March 17 - 21, 2025 (Spring break)
  • April 21, 2025 (April break)
  • May 9, 2025 (Spring Fling)
  • May 21, 2025 (Last day of After 3 for ALL students)

Enrichment Classes

Enrichment classes are offered each trimester and are designed to meet the varied interests of BCD students such as cooking, sports, science, chess, technology, STEM, Lego™ Engineering , etc. Our after school enrichment classes save parents time and make scheduling easy!

Enrichment classes are not included in the cost of our daily after school care - unlimited use program fees. 
  • Families who want to register for enrichment classes in addition to daily after school (unlimited billing program) must register and pay for after school enrichment classes.
  • Students enrolled in an after school enrichment class are escorted by a BCD faculty member to their class.
  • All students except those who are enrolled in our unlimited-daily after-school care program MUST be picked up on time at the end of their enrichment class. We do not offer drop-in care after enrichment classes end.
  • Enrichment classes vary throughout the year.

Session 1: Sept 2 - Oct 25
Session 2: Nov 4 - Jan 17
Session 3: Jan 20 - March 14
Session 4: March 24 - May 16

CANCELATION POLICY
BCD reserves the right to cancel any after school enrichment class that does not have sufficient enrollment. Full refunds are available for program cancellation due to low enrollment. You will be notified at least one week prior to the start date of class if the class is canceled.

Participant cancellation:
BCD requires payment in full at the time of registration for all after school enrichment classes. Refunds are not available after 7 days prior to the first day of any after school enrichment class. If you would like to request a refund, please email us at after3@bouldercountryday.org.
