Parents

Overview

Parents are an essential part of the BCD community. As volunteers, supporters of our programs, fans on the sidelines, and contributors to our philanthropic endeavors, the BCD parents are engaged! This is a community of families who care about education and who want their children raised in a safe, supportive yet rigorous environment.

  • Extra power supply (can be ordered via the BCD website and picked up at the front desk)

Summer reading

Boulder Country Day believes that reading, both in and out of school, is a key to developing into a successful learner. Reading helps students understand themselves and others, sparks imagination, encourages focus, and assists in relaxation and mood regulation. Reading during the summer also helps prepare children for school in the fall. A few minutes each day can maintain fluency, decoding, and flow, and we find that children who read (with their parents or on their own) tend to build stamina, confidence, and competence that benefits them throughout the school year.
