Best Back-To-School Night Ever!
Its back-to-school-night and roundtable season and the anticipation is unfortunately more than amply over shadowed by its coinciding with fantasy football draft season. And as seasons go, so goes the airwaves.
I have seen many an article on how to make back to school night more interesting. Flip it, one article suggests. This approach suggests open video sharing from the classroom for parents unable to make it to the event or pushing out videos designed by students. Roger that. Make it easy, do what needs to be done. I can get with that. Then there are the be sure to cover this, be sure to cover that, roll out the red carpet articles. How about this folks? Go, watch, ask questions - ‘attend’ back to school night. Get to know your children’s teachers, know their peers parents, get a feel for what their world looks like, let them know you’re checked in. Set the example that says I care about your world and I want to know more. When you’re checked in, they check in. How’s that for a successful back to school night formula?
