Capstone event approaches for 8th graders
One of the fundamental building blocks of education, and life, is facing challenges and overcoming them. We aim to instill in our students a sense of meeting challenges with optimism, determination and perseverance. The Capstone Project is the embodiment of this ideal. Eighth grade students choose an independent study project that represents something of their own interest or passion. They work with a community mentor to develop their project over the entire school year. Past projects include writing a book, oil painting, designing a golf course, smelting a sword, learning Russian, and much more! This year’s projects are diverse and impressive.
On Friday, April 24th at 1:00pm the eighth graders will present their projects with speeches and displays. This event is for parents, students and their mentors. We look forward to celebrating their achievements with them.
