BCD MS students attended the lead conference in Chicago
On Friday, February 15th, members of the BCD Middle School Student Council and other rising middle school leaders traveled to Chicago to attend the LEAD Conference. Alongside hundreds of students from across the nation, the BCD students attended a variety of keynote speakers and breakout sessions focusing on different topics related to leadership.
"Chicago was a great experience for everyone who went. We all gained insight and learned how to be great leaders at BCD. Rather than learning how to create better fundraisers and write more proposals like we expected, we were taught how to be better people, which leads us to become better leaders. We listened to an amazing speaker named Keith Hawkins, who told us about two important aspects of a leader. His message was that there is no comparing and that things that are temporary are unimportant. All in all, we learned to treat everyone in our school like they were our best friends and to never put our friends first, but to put everyone first." - Charlie Bickham, BCD MS Student Council President
