Prior to teaching at BCD, I have taught primary school in England and most recently, taught first grade at an independent school in the Bay Area. In my free time, I love to be outside, hiking, running, or swimming. I also love travelling and spending time with family and friends.
I started working as a 1st and 2nd grade teacher in a bilingual school in Venezuela many years ago. After teaching for 2 years, I got married and moved to Colorado. Our initial plan was for my husband to get his Master’s Degree from CU Boulder and go back to Venezuela, but we fell in love with Colorado and decided to stay. We have 4 boys, Felipe, Diego, Matias and Nicolas, they all have attended BCD since preschool. Our oldest is now at Niwot High School. I enjoy spending time with my family and go to all of our boys’ baseball games!
My family and I have been a part of the BCD community for 10 years. My two sons started in the BCD preschool and now Christopher is in 5th grade and Charlie is in 7th. I began as an assistant in the preschool in 2010. I left my position after two years to take care of some family health issues and am overjoyed to be back in the preschool. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, doing puzzles and needlepointing.

I have ten years of experience teaching children from early years through third grade in both the UK and the USA.
I grew up in Newcastle, England and came to the USA in 2006. I moved to beautiful Boulder with my husband in 2013 where I’m embracing the outdoors through cycling, hiking with my dog and learning to ski! I have a love for art and design and enjoy designing textiles and making products.
I had the opportunity to become an assistant preschool teacher when my sons were in preschool themselves. Seventeen years later I still continue to help teachers teach preschoolers. I love the “aha” moments these children get when learning and laughing with them.
I am blessed with two wonderful sons. Family means everything to me and my husband. I like to travel, cheer my sons on at their basketball games, and we are all Big CU Buff fans! When I get that quiet moment, I love to relax with my giant schnauzer and a cup of tea.
