Middle School Dress Code Policy

2026-27 MIDDLE SCHOOL Dress Code

The purpose of this dress code is to establish guidelines that promote an appropriate educational environment while allowing students to dress comfortably within defined boundaries conducive to learning. While acknowledging students’ rights to personal expression and individuality, BCD maintains the need to regulate conduct to ensure a safe, studious, and hygienic environment for all students, regardless of sex, viewpoint, or religion.

General Guidelines: Mondays - Thursdays
● Clothing must be comfortable and fit well.
● Dress should reflect modesty in fit and length; undergarments should not be visible, and shirts should not reveal stomach or midriff.
● All apparel should be free from tears, rips, and frays.
● Apparel that has words or pictures on it is allowed as long as the words and pictures are not lewd, vulgar, indecent, or plainly offensive.
Additionally, words or pictures cannot be interpreted as promoting drugs/alcohol and/or violence.
● Shirts must have capped sleeves. No tank tops, spaghetti straps, or strapless tops are allowed.
● Closed toe & heel shoes must be worn at all times.
● Hats and hoods are not permitted in the building but are allowed when outside for recess or class.
● Pajamas & slippers are not permitted in school.

Fridays - Spirit Wear
● Students are required to wear a BCD branded shirt to show school spirit

Dress up days
● There will be a few dress up days during the school year. Families will be notified ahead of time.
