Dear Families -
Children will inherit a future we cannot yet imagine. At Boulder Country Day School, we believe the best preparation lies not just in what they know, but in the capacities they develop: the confidence to think independently, the curiosity to explore many paths, the courage to persist when answers are not immediately clear, and the empathy to understand others. That growth begins with adults who believe in them, know them well, recognize their strengths, and help them discover what they are capable of becoming.
Grounded in the science of learning and strengthened by our partnership with the Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning, our exceptional educators foster belonging and create an intentional balance of challenge and support. When students know they belong, they feel safe to ask thoughtful questions and take appropriate risks. By reflecting on their learning and revising their thinking, they deepen their understanding and build the executive-functioning skills needed for increasing independence.
Our Preschool-8th Grade model gives children the time and space to grow without rushing through childhood. Students see possibility in one another and, at every age, and have meaningful opportunities to contribute and lead. Every student can explore what it means to be a scholar, artist, athlete, creator, entrepreneur, and engaged member of the community. They learn to collaborate across differences and recognize their responsibility to something bigger than themselves.
BCD graduates leave well prepared for high school, but our aspirations extend beyond their next academic step. We want our graduates to understand how they learn best, value the perspectives of others, and be prepared to use their strengths with confidence and purpose.

Get to Know Robin
I came to education through a love of science, nature, and wonder. My career began as a marine science and outdoor educator at the Catalina Island Marine Institute and as a naturalist in Denali National Park. Over more than 25 years, I have taught science from kindergarten through high school and led work in curriculum, faculty development, student support, school operations, and strategy. Before joining BCD as Head of School in 2025, I served for ten years as Elementary School Principal at Campbell Hall in Los Angeles and previously as Associate Head of School and Upper School Director at St. Paul’s Academy in Washington State.
At the heart of my leadership is a simple belief: children must remain at the center of every decision a school makes. For me, leadership begins with service—listening deeply, staying more curious than certain, asking difficult questions, and creating the conditions for others to do their best work. It also requires clarity, accountability, and a willingness to keep learning. I am deeply committed to creating equitable and inclusive schools where every child is known, valued, appropriately challenged, and able to experience a genuine sense of belonging.
I believe schools should be joyful learning communities for children and adults. At BCD, I am committed to embedding the science of learning into instructional design and the rhythms of the school day while protecting space for playful curiosity at every age. Students and educators need opportunities to ask better questions, try new ideas, explore many paths, discover their strengths, find purpose, and contribute to something larger than themselves.
I hold an M.A. in Educational Administration from California State University, Northridge, and a B.A. in Marine Science and Business Administration from the University of Miami.
