Prior to joining the BCD community, I spent 5 years teaching preschool through 2nd grade in the Boulder area. I also spent some time working in a law firm with an emphasis in educational law. I am a Boulder native, and it should come as no surprise that I love to be in the mountains and play outside. You can also find me curled up with a good book or enjoying the company of my friends and family.
Prior to teaching at BCD, I played professional basketball in Europe and coached collegiate basketball at Colorado State University. One of my all-time favorite things to do is play basketball. I was fortunate enough to play collegiate basketball at the University of Colorado, and love to pass on my passion for the game to younger players.
Prior to starting my teaching career at BCD, I worked as a Forest Service Ranger in the John Muir Wilderness. I moved to Boulder shortly after and worked as a climbing coach for children. In my free time I enjoy climbing, skiing, and anything that gets me outside.
I have been teaching for over 16 years in both independent and public schools from California to Colorado. I live in Niwot with my husband and three children. In my free time I enjoy running and training for half marathons, reading a good book while drinking coffee, laughing with my family, and practicing my cooking skills. I am enthusiastic and passionate about learning something new and growing with my students each day.
My favorite things about living in Boulder are the people, sunshine, and mountains. Prior to teaching at BCD, I taught first grade at Harding Academy in Nashville, Tennessee for six years. Before that I taught in North Ridgeville City Schools in Ohio for five years. When I am not teaching, you can most likely find me spending time outside with my family. I enjoy hiking, exploring, and anything to do with water.
I taught Kindergarten for three years at Roxborough Primary, an IB Elementary School in Littleton, Colorado. My other teaching experience includes over ten years of working for different Kindergarten Enrichment classrooms, teaching internships, and day camp programs. I am proud to be a Colorado native and enjoy spending my time outdoors with my husband and family. My hobbies include tennis, hiking, and trying new recipes.
Prior to joining the BCD community, I taught at Hawken School in Cleveland, Ohio for five years, both in kindergarten and third grade, and coached field hockey at various levels. In my free time I enjoy doing many different activities with my husband, including traveling, hiking, attending baseball games (Go, Tribe!), playing tennis, golf, and sand volleyball, and snuggling with our cat, Lottie.

In my free time I love to be outside, spend time with my family, cook and read. In the classroom, I get great joy seeing children engaged in their learning and becoming lifelong learners.
I live in Colorado because I love to ski, hike, bike, and to be outside! Cooking is my favorite hobby. I went to The Culinary School of the Rockies for a year-and-a-half program and got to eat, sleep, and breathe cooking!
