I have been teaching for 15 years at various grade levels, most recently in Hawaii. I truly enjoy spending time with my family and attending my children's sporting events. I love reading, cooking, and traveling. Traveling has given us opportunities to experience different cultures, foods, and a true appreciation for the world around us!
Before coming to BCD in 2014, I worked in the Boulder Valley School District for ten years as a classroom teacher, literacy specialist, and as an educator of gifted students. During my free time, I love to travel, bike ride, hike, ski, and spend time with family and friends.
I spent the 2015-2016 school year working as a Teacher Intern in the Kindergarten classrooms at BCD, in addition to working in Mrs. Hawkes Pre-K class as a Preschool Assistant and an After Care teacher. Prior to working at BCD, I held internships in the Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences field working with Preschool children. I am currently working on my masters in Education and Human Development. In my spare time I love practicing yoga, skiing, hiking and anything fashion related!
I spent the last two years teaching kindergarten in Adams 14 School District. Prior to that, I completed my teaching license program and student teaching through the Friend’s School in Boulder. One of my favorite things about teaching is watching the “aha!” moments kids get when they finally master a skill. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking with my dogs, baking, gardening and spending time with my family. I am so excited to be a part of the BCD family!
Prior to teaching at BCD, I played professional basketball in Europe and coached collegiate basketball at Colorado State University. One of my all-time favorite things to do is play basketball. I was fortunate enough to play collegiate basketball at the University of Colorado, and love to pass on my passion for the game to younger players.
I have been teaching for over 16 years in both independent and public schools from California to Colorado. I live in Niwot with my husband and three children. My husband and and I spend quite a bit of our free time watching our kids play sports. As a family, we love to hike, walk our two golden retrievers, travel, and go the movies.
In my free time I enjoy running and training for half marathons, reading a good book while drinking coffee, laughing with my family, and practicing my cooking skills. I am enthusiastic and passionate about learning something new and growing with my students each day.
After growing up in a household of teachers and attending a Country Day School from junior kindergarten to twelfth grade, I had no doubt in my mind that I wanted to be a teacher! I studied education at Colorado College and then landed at Graland Country Day School in Denver, where I pursued my MAT. During my time at Graland I spent time in both kindergarten and first grade. I am thrilled to be teaching second grade at such a wonderful school in beautiful Boulder! Outside of the classroom, you can find me on the ski slopes after I’ve watered my plants and drank mugs of coffee.
My favorite things about living in Boulder are the people, sunshine, and mountains. Prior to teaching at BCD, I taught first grade at Harding Academy in Nashville, Tennessee for six years. Before that I taught in North Ridgeville City Schools in Ohio for five years. When I am not teaching, you can most likely find me spending time outside with my family. I enjoy hiking, exploring, and anything to do with water.
This is my 3rd year teaching, prior to BCD I taught 2nd grade at a school in Commerce City. Last year I joined BCD as the Kindergarten Assistant and also worked After & Before care.
I am a Boulder native and enjoy doing anything that gets me outdoors. This past summer, I backpacked the Collegiate Loop, as well as the Four Pass Loop in Aspen. I also enjoy cooking, travelling, and spending time with my family.

I enjoy reading, bike riding, hiking and traveling. It is a joy to spend the day with fourth graders and see them discover a love of reading and learning.
I live in Colorado because I love to ski, hike, bike, and to be outside! Cooking is my favorite hobby. I went to The Culinary School of the Rockies for a year-and-a-half program and got to eat, sleep, and breathe cooking!
I graduated Iowa State University in 2018 and worked for Des Moines Public Schools my first 2 years of teaching. I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska (Go Huskers!) and living in Colorado has always been a dream of mine. I can’t wait to learn and grow at BCD! When I’m not teaching, I love to garden, hike, run, and cook.
Prior to coming to BCD, I taught Latin and classics as well as coaching lacrosse, field hockey, and soccer for five years at The Episcopal School of Dallas. I wanted to move to Colorado because I love to hike, bike, camp, and enjoy the great outdoors! I love spending time with my family and traveling as much as possible.
