Designing the Right School for This Moment and for the World Our Children Will Shape: Reflections for Parents

As parents, many of us carry the same quiet, persistent questions.

When families ask me what to look for in a school right now, I often suggest starting with a few guiding questions:

Does this school balance academic challenge with emotional grounding?

Are children known deeply as individuals, not just as students?

Is learning connected to the real world in meaningful, age-appropriate ways?

Does this school welcome my child and my family and encourage us to share our story and find a sense of belonging?

And perhaps most importantly: does this community help children develop a strong sense of self and purpose?
