List of 8 items.

  • Well-Rounded

BCD offers students the opportunity to experience a variety of strong curricular programs: core academics, world languages, the arts, music, technology, physical education, competetive athletics, experiential/extracurricular offerings and community service.
  • Classical Education

A BCD education is founded on the belief that students must master core fundamental academic skills in reading, writing, mathematics, history, science, fine arts, Latin and world language.  Students are also taught critical thinking skills by questioning and synthesizing information.  All of this is accomplished within a learning environment that embraces innovation and contemporary, best practice methodology.
  • Academic Excellence

BCD provides a rich academic program with small class sizes allowing an exceptional faculty to challenge and support each student at his/her individual level. We help all learners reach their fullest academic potential and prepare for future success.
  • Character Development

In addition to an engaging academic program, we pay attention to the developmental needs of our students. Key areas of emphasis include, but are not limited to, communication, self-advocacy, empathy, integrity, conflict resolution, self-confidence, maintaining friendships and decision making.
  • Safe Environment

BCD works diligently to provide both a physically and emotionally safe environment where students can grow, learn, and take risks in a supportive community.
  • Lifelong Learners

The foundation provided by a BCD education acts as a springboard for future accomplishments and prepares students to succeed in high school and beyond.
  • Responsible Global Citizens

BCD students are known for their positive attitude, courteous behavior, good judgment, global awareness, and contributions to their communities.
  • Students Inspired to Reach Their Fullest Potential

BCD students are infused with intellectual curiosity, have a quest for knowledge, are motivated to explore, love a challenge, and are proud of their accomplishments.  They reach and exceed the high expectations of our excellent faculty with whom they build strong relationships.

Our Community

Boulder Country Day nurtures a safe, inclusive, and welcoming community in which we develop our students’ character and inspire them to become responsible, globally aware citizens. We believe diverse communities are stronger communities, and our families come to us from Boulder, across the country, and around the world, bringing a wide variety of life experiences to our campus and our classrooms.

These experiences and perspectives enrich class discussions, group work, subject area studies, and grade level projects, and, taken together, they make us more effective learners, more productive problem solvers, and more inventive creators. We value different thinking, and research tells us that groups with different thinking produce better thinking.

Our community values are born from our school motto – Respect yourself. Respect others. Take responsibility for your actions. – and we teach them intentionally on a daily basis. Our character education curriculum begins in preschool were we help our students develop a sense of “I am” and “I can,” and continues through middle school where our grade level themes of self (6th grade), self with others (7th grade), and my place in this world (8th grade) help students develop a sense of where they come from, who they are, and who they want to be.

We are committed to attracting, recruiting, and retaining outstanding educators in support of these goals. First and foremost, our teachers love children. They are experts in their fields who come to Boulder Country Day from across the United States and around the world because they believe children are our future and they want to work in a school environment where children are known and valued. Furthermore, we support our teachers with a generous professional development program, helping them continue their education, stay abreast of best practice methodologies, and create innovative curriculum to serve our students’ needs.
