Students gear up for active month of community service
BCD’s upper elementary classes have partnered their service learning projects with There With Care whose mission is to help families with children in the critical phase of an illness.
The 3rd grade classes will write notes of hope for the children and fill 20 cheerful buckets with their words of encouragement as part of There With Care’s “Buckets of Hope” program. Ms. Kana’s and Ms. Demler’s classes will visit There With Care’s facility on Monday, March 16th.
The 4th grade classes are tying fleece snuggle blankets for There With Care’s clients and their siblings. Mrs. Chargualaf’s and Mrs. Woodring’s classes plan to visit There With Care’s facility on Thursday, March 19th to deliver these precious ‘hugs’.
The lower elementary classes have partnered with Boulder County Parks and Open Space. The kindergarten classes will be traveling to Walden Ponds on Wednesday, April 1st to learn all about mammal habitats and how we can best protect them.
