Financial Aid

Boulder Country Day believes that an outstanding education should be available to all families. Our commitment and goal is to welcome and support a diverse group of qualified students, including those who would not otherwise be able to attend BCD. Tuition assistance is available for qualified families. Applying for financial aid is not a factor when applying for admission. Interested families may contact the Business Director or the Admission Office for more information.

The Martin Family Scholarship

The Martin Family has been involved with Boulder Country Day School since their daughter Laura began attending preschool in 1993.  She graduated in 2004 and now, after her college graduation, has joined BCD's Board of Trustees as our first alumni trustee.  While a student here, both of Laura's parents committed their time and means to supporting the school in various ways including facilities acquisition, marketing, board governance, and philanthropy.  In 2005 Scott and Janet Martin made a significant pledge that enabled BCD to start the Martin Family Scholarship Fund.  They believe in the power of a BCD education and want to ensure that access to it is not deterred by a lack of financial means.  Today the Martin Family Scholarship is used to support families who meet BCD's admission criteria but who cannot cover the cost of attendance without additional support.

The Shields Scholarship

The Shields Scholarship, named after former Head of School, Mike Shields and his wife Roie, was created to support a rising or current BCD Middle School student who has achieved academic excellence, a commitment to community service and has demonstrated financial need.

The Wilson Family Scholarship

Established in 2015 with a gift from the Wilson family, this scholarship will be awarded to a deserving K-8th grade BCD student with demonstrated financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Committee and the Head of School.  The goal of the gift is to completely fund a student’s K-8 journey at BCD and then return and begin with a new student funding their K-8 journey.

The Rucks Foundation Scholarship

Established in 2015 with a gift from the Rucks Foundation, this scholarship will be awarded for single parents who have financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Committee and the Head of School.  The Rucks Family acknowledges the struggles that many single parents face in raising children and want to alleviate some of that through their donation to cover tuition.  To be eligible, a student must be admissible to Boulder Country Day School using the same criteria as other students (academic behavior, and mission fit).
