Welcome to Boulder Country Day School!
For nearly 25 years Boulder Country Day School has been at the forefront of education in the Boulder Valley. The hallmarks of our school - Community, Character, Academic Excellence, and Small Class Sizes - are the keys to our success and allow us to create an educational experience where children innovate, create, grow and thrive.

Our preschool and early elementary curricula model best practice. Preschool at BCD is literacy-based, and provides the right combination of academics, play and citizenship for our graduates to move easily into a challenging elementary experience. In addition to the core academic classes of Math, Literature, English, Social Studies and Science, all elementary students study two modern world languages, French and Spanish. And, the study of Latin begins in the fourth grade. Music, art, computer science, and physical education round out our students' elementary school experience.

The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (MYP) is the basis for our middle school curriculum. We are one of the few stand-alone MYP programs in the country. As an IB school, we seek to connect all subject groups: Humanities, Mathematics, Science, Foreign Languages (2), Technology, Fine Arts, and Physical Education in a unique interdisciplinary way. Along with the core academic pieces of the IB program, our middle school students are expected to be responsible young adults by participating in community service, studying health and social education, developing their study skills, and seeking to discover their own unique potential. Our middle school students are young leaders and, as such, are also charged with living and modeling the core values of our school as outlined in our motto: Respect Yourself. Respect Others. Take Responsibility for Your Actions.

The Boulder Country Day challenge, Discover Your Excellence, recognizes that excellence is teachable, personal, and can be achieved in a variety of different disciplines - academic, athletic, community service, leadership, and more. Should you decide to join our family, I promise you that BCD will provide your son or daughter the right combination of nurture, structure, and latitude to live up to this challenge.
