In 1999, Boulder Country Day School relocated from its original location on a 1¼ acre site at 3800 Kalmia Avenue in Boulder to its current 5.5 acre campus located just northeast of downtown Boulder in Gunbarrel. The campus is adjacent to Twin Lakes Open Space, a 42 acre protected area that includes hiking trails that circle around two small lakes and abundant opportunities for bird watching.
Purpose built to fit the needs of our specific age groups, the facility includes separate preschool
, and middle school
classroom buildings, allowing each one to take on its own identity and provide a safe and welcoming environment that is tailored to the age range of students. Our campus also houses
a full size gymnasium with a performance stage, music rooms, and pottery lab as well as a centrally located administration building, which houses a library
, science lab, art room and a fully networked computer lab. In October of 1999, the students and parents of Boulder Country Day built a 9,000 square foot playground structure, which was designed by our students with the help of a playground architect.
